Civic Agriculture (Children of Resettled Families Agriculture and Education Project)

We are collaborating with community partners on an exciting new urban agriculture project at Joyce A. Savocchio Business Park.  Consumers across the nation are increasingly concerned with the health, environmental and social aspects of food production.

While producers and retailers are beginning to respond accordingly there is a need and desire to connect with our food source. The Children of Resettled Families Agriculture and Education Project seeks to help the Erie community make the connection.

The initial phase of the project holds construction of a greenhouse where the community can experience the agricultural process and youth will gain personal marketable skills in horticulture, business management, planning, responsibility, leadership and teamwork while experiencing the pride of ownership and building a better neighborhood.
